When I think of the weather in the southeast, especially in the summer, two words immediately come to mind, hot and humid. The pace is slower in the south, and the overall vibe for style is much more relaxed. You’ll want to use “easy, breezy, beautiful” as your theme for your outfits, so your clothes don’t end up becoming “complicated, sticky, gross”. All of those boho, cottage core dresses were basically designed for a vacay down south. If the flowy silhouettes make you feel like you’re drowning in fabric, add a wide waist belt to create a little balance. Also, opt for a dress that’s knee length or above. Midi and maxi dresses will exaggerate the volume.
Regarding what to pack, I would suggest similar outfits to what you would need for a long weekend in the Northeast, just with a different vibe. You’ll want outfits for walking around and exploring in lightweight fabrics, so you don’t have to worry about how sweaty you look. Comfortable shoes will be another must. Grab yourself a panama hat to channel all those boho vibes.
