There were (and still are) so many challenges. I could put simple outfits together, but felt like there was a “wow factor” lacking, or better said, something to take an outfit and elevate it to make it uniquely me.
I started working with Susan in 2018. My style was all over the place and didn’t really speak to who I was, but rather what others thought I should be. Like most middle-aged women, I was not always comfortable with how my body looked, and styled outfits to hide my perceived flaws rather than accentuate the attributes. Confidence varied, some good days, some not so good days.
Standing in the bedroom in my underwear with Susan with stuff all over and seeing how much I didn’t need.
“The closet of my mind is divided into “before” and “after” Susan. When I shop, I am able to hear her voice in my head saying “this is cool” or “nope” before I buy anything. I am more tuned into timeless style appropriate for me rather than trends that do not serve my purpose. We are all a work in progress in all facets of life, and I’m happy and privileged to have Susan with me on the journey.”
I am open to more options: color, pattern and accessories. I see new combinations in my closet that were always there, thanks to guidance from Susan, I am more accepting of my body (always an obstacle) and dress for myself now. Size is a number, and whatever the number, feeling good in my own skin is the ultimate achievement.
